• Dual Range Control Function: Improves control above or below ambient. The high mode allows cycling of the heater from full power to an adjustable lower power input level. The low mode provides cycling of the heater power input from an adjustable power output level to a power off condition.
• Solid State Output Thyristor: Is designed to control the flow of AC power to restive type heating devices ONLY. Total wattage of all heaters connected to the module must not exceed 1000 Watts (120VAC rating).
• Exclusive Voltage Limit Control: Ensures improved response of most systems using an on/off type contact Thermoregulator.
• Selection of "Make or Break" On Temperature Rise Input Switch Function: Is provided by a special circuit, which allows instant choice.
• Universal Regulator Acceptance: All "make on rise" type mercury thermoregulators or "break on rise" liquid-filled expansion thermostats may be utilized.
• Heat/Cool Selector: Allows operation of systems at temperatures above ambient or below. On/off control AC power to the associated heating or cooling device is obtained from the load receptacle.

The VersaLab 2231 On/Off Solid State Temperature Control allows instant plug-in system setup and uses a wide range of standard thermoregulators. In operation, micro current signals passing through the thermoregulator contacts are amplified by a solid state assembly and control the output load thyristor. An exclusive DynaSense^® circuit provides control capacity beyond the range of generic "electronic relays". The power limit control provides smoother control response curves by limiting temperature over shoot; and the range selector switch improves system control above or below ambient.
